CSF ANP members’ protest action in front of the Embassy of Belarus in Armenia
On September 10, 2020 the EaP CSF Armenian National Platform held a protest in front of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Armenia in defense of Irina Sukhy, Andrei Yahoraou and Stanislava Husakova, three Belarusian civic activists, members of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum that had been arrested in Belarus on September 5-7, 2020. The participants of the protest action called for an immediate end to violence and repression by the Belarus law enforcement bodies against civil society, youth and dissidents, urging the Belarus government to engage in a constructive dialogue with the opposition leader Sviatlana Tikhanovskaya and her representatives.
The results of the August 9, 2020 presidential elections of the Republic of Belarus have been declared invalid by a number of states and organizations, including the European Union, due to numerous violations and falsifications.
