EaP CSF Armenian Delegates’ General Assembly

On April 12, 2017 EaP CSF Armenian Delegates’ General Assembly was held. Boris Navasardian, CSF Armenia Country Facilitator and Heriknaz Harutyunyan, Executive Director of ANP Secretariat presented to the Assembly participants the ANP activities in the first months of 2017, the results of working meetings of ANP Executive body with representatives of the European Commission, EU Delegation to Armenia, as well as ANP Working Groups’ current meetings.

Afterwards, EaP CSF ANP delegates elected through secret ballot the 20 participants and 1 observer to the EaP CSF 9th Annual Assembly to be held in Tallinn on October 25-27, 2017. The shortlist of the participants of the 9th Annual Assembly was made based on the voting results.

The final shortlist, however, will be based on this and two other shortlists, prepared by the five thematic Working Group Coordinators elected by the EaP CSF Annual Assembly in 2016 and the EU delegations in the six EaP countries. Local authorities from Eastern Partnership countries invited to apply for EU grants

Local authorities from Eastern Partnership countries have until 31 May to submit grant applications under a call from the Mayors for Economic Growth (M4EG) initiative, launched on April 10. Mayors for Economic Growth aims to support local authorities to become active facilitators for economic growth and job creation by capacity building measures and strengthening their technical skills in partnership with local businesses and civil society.

The aim of the competition is to assist cities in the implementation of their Local Economic Development Plans, in close partnership with local business and civil society, and in line with principles of good governance and financial discipline.

These grants will encourage business development and entrepreneurship, improve the business environment and facilitate access to financial resources.

The overall competition budget is €9.5, million up to 90% of which can be co-funded by the EU.
